The All France Rugby Club had the privilege of taking part in a Rugby 7s tournament alongside the Japan Deaf Rugby community.

For many of us, it was more than just a tournament. It was a different way to experience rugby itself.

On this field, there were no whistles, no shouting across the pitch, no loud calls to organize the defense. Communication relied on visual signals, eye contact, gestures, and mutual awareness. Even the referee used red gloves instead of a whistle to stop play.

At first, it feels unusual. Rugby players are used to constantly talking, warning teammates, and reacting to sound. But little by little, the game changes your perspective.

You begin to observe more carefully.
You anticipate differently.
You trust your teammates in another way.

The intensity, commitment, and spirit of the game remain exactly the same — only the way of communicating changes.

This experience reminded us that rugby truly is a sport for everyone. Beyond differences, languages, or disabilities, the core values stay universal: solidarity, respect, teamwork, and shared passion.

We would like to sincerely thank the Japan Deaf Rugby community for welcoming us and allowing us to share this moment with them. It was an inspiring experience both on and off the field. 🏉🇯🇵🇫🇷
