Members of the All France Rugby Club travelled to Hakuba to take part in a snow rugby tournament in the heart of the Japanese Alps.
The weekend combined everything we love about rugby culture: sport, friendship, food, and a bit of chaos in the snow.
Between matches played on icy fields, ski and snowboard sessions, raclette dinners, hot springs, and post-game celebrations, the trip perfectly reflected the spirit of the club both on and off the pitch.
Snow rugby is a very different experience from traditional rugby. Running becomes harder, passes less predictable, and tackles… significantly colder. But that is also what makes it special. The atmosphere is relaxed, mixed teams are common, and the focus is as much on sharing the experience as on the competition itself.
Events like these remind us that rugby is not limited to stadiums or regular seasons. It is also about bringing people together, creating memories, and building friendships in unexpected places.
A huge thank you to the organizers, the teams we met, and everyone who joined this unforgettable weekend in Hakuba. 🏉❄️🇫🇷🇯🇵
