For one afternoon, a corner of South-West France came to Tokyo.
On Saturday, June 20th, the All France Rugby Club hosted the first edition of the Feria Experience at Le Comptoir Occitan in Daikanyama.
Around 70 people joined us for the event, bringing together a diverse crowd of French nationals, Japanese guests, and international visitors eager to discover one of the most vibrant traditions of South-West France.
From noon onwards, participants dressed in the traditional white and red feria colours immersed themselves in an afternoon dedicated to friendship, celebration, and rugby culture. Guests enjoyed French food and drinks including cassoulet, tapas, wine, beer, and pastis, all in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
One of the highlights of the day was the live performance by the bandas, whose music captured the authentic spirit of a French feria. Throughout the afternoon, guests joined in singing, dancing, the famous Paquito, and even tried drinking muscat wine from a traditional porron, creating unforgettable moments and plenty of laughter.
Although rain arrived around 3:00 PM, it did little to dampen the mood. The terrace remained open and the celebration continued, proving that the true feria spirit shines regardless of the weather.
The tombola was another major success thanks to the generous support of our partners. Prizes included Ladurée macarons, gourmet gift baskets, iconic products from South-West France, a dinner for two at Le Comptoir Occitan, a magnum of champagne, and exclusive experiences linked to the France vs Japan rugby match in Tokyo.
More than just a celebration, the Feria Experience perfectly reflected the mission of the All France Rugby Club: sharing French rugby culture in Japan, bringing together French and international communities, and promoting the values of friendship, inclusion, and conviviality that have defined our club for nearly forty years.
