As part of our commitment to promoting inclusive rugby culture, members of the All France Rugby Club recently had the opportunity to discover wheelchair rugby alongside athletes in Japan.
For many of us, it was a completely new experience — and an impressive one.
Wheelchair rugby is intense, physical, tactical, and incredibly demanding. From the first minutes on the court, it became clear how much technique, coordination, and game awareness the sport requires. The speed of the chairs, the contact, and the precision of the movements create a spectacular and highly competitive game.
Beyond the sporting aspect, this discovery was also an important reminder that rugby exists in many forms and can be adapted to different realities while keeping the same core values: commitment, teamwork, resilience, and solidarity.
Spending time with the players and learning more about the discipline gave us a deeper appreciation for adaptive sports and the communities that help them grow.
A huge thank you to everyone who welcomed us and shared their passion for wheelchair rugby with us. Experiences like these are exactly why we believe rugby is truly a sport for all. 🏉♿🇯🇵🇫🇷
