Last Sunday we had a great game against Tentou Mushi.
We knew that this was not a team we could beat easily as they had a victory on the Dandelions at the beginning of October and we would play without our usual line of backs. We also had to deal with the new ground in Inagi-Nagamine which while having a nice pitch, there is no space available to warm-up properly.
Despite all this, we had numerous players all wishing to do their best. Also we had a front group of forwards to show the opponent what AFRC is good at !
And this is exactly what happened …
With a really good defense, we managed to keep the Tentou mushi from putting any tries in the first 20-25 minutes even though we almost always were on our side of the ground, but
we took a penalty goal after being maybe too aggressive in defense…
We managed however to bring back to the score before half-time after a try we put with the help of the forwards, all in All France style, that is a strong core to push and push and push …
Then we took a try due a good attack from the Tentou Mushi but we cannot say that our defense line was faulty. Everyone was getting tired because of the sun hammering on this Sunday.
Also we took a yellow card, apparently due to many dangerous moves happening on the field and we lost Pierre for 10 minutes. But we maintained strong and finally planted a try with a combination of Forwards attacks and Backs, ending with a try from Ras.
This was great to win after our defeat against the Doctors and we’re all eagerly waiting for our next game to play our best.
